Meet our cat and dog sitters
Peter & Jackie Gossman
As Managers of Pyes Pa Pet Lodge, Peter and Jackie have a deep love for animals and bring over 30 years’ hands-on experience. Having worked as volunteers at SPCA and Animal Welfare centres, they have a deep desire to create an environment where animals feel safe, loved and cared for. Their vision for Pyes Pa Pet Lodge is to be your pet’s home away from home, where your companions will be as excited to be dropped off at our lodge as they are when you come to collect them again.
Peter and Jackie also have a wealth of experience in business, IT and engineering with the skills to maximise our facilities and create an environment where your beloved pets will thrive. Over the years they have personally cared for over 25 dogs and cats and are currently proud parents to gorgeous Mishka, whom they rescued - mostly Border Collie crossed with a smattering of Labrador, which tends to reveal around her hips.
Kayla Richards
My name is Makayla, but I prefer to go by Kayla. I've been part of the Pet Lodge team since August 2017, but left due to an ankle injury at the end of 2018. However, I am stoked to be back working at Pyes Pa Pet Lodge with Neil, Peter, Jackie and the team.
I am currently studying Vet Nursing at Toi Ohomai. When I am not studying or working, I am riding my horses and looking after my pup Leia (in the photo).
I am glad to be back at Pyes Pa Pet Lodge and looking forward to what 2019 has to bring for the Pet Lodge!
JT - Jazz Leat
My name is Jazz but I'm mostly known as “JT” at the Pet Lodge. I've recently finished my Animal Care Certification, and this is an awesome opportunity for me to put what I've learnt into action.
I'm thankful for the opportunity to be able to come to work and be surrounded by animals and an awesome team at work each day.

Jasmine Mckenzie-Lass
Jasmine recently moved to Tauranga and as much as she likes it here she says she loves being part of the team at the Lodge.
Currently studying Vet Nursing at Toi Ohomai, Jasmine can put her new skills into practise. She's living the dream of her passion being work!
When not loving the pets at Pyes Pa Pet Lodge, she is loving her purrfect cat Ace!
Pascale Sperling
Hi, my name is Pascale and I’m stoked to be working at the Lodge. The picture is of my Shepherd, Bolt, who loves to lounge around with all the Bernese Mountain Dogs back home.
I have come from a background of professional dog handling and just finished my uni studies in America, so I am glad to have settled down with a job involving the animals I love so much. Thanks to Peter, Jackie and the girls my transition into the Kennel life has been amazing.
I’m sure Bolt is very jealous of the dogs (and cats) here at the lodge!
